Selous-"Fly In-Fly Out"
4 days, 3 nights Safari in beautiful Southern Tanzania
Immerse yourself in the heart of one of Tanzania’s most remote and wild corners on this four-day adventure. Flying out of Dar es Salaam and into the Selous Game Reserve highlights the sheer contrast and diversity that exists within this incredible country. With two nights and one full day of adventure in Selous, you’re sure to gain a preliminary exposure to the vibrant wildlife and stunning landscapes that characterize the continent’s largest protected game reserve. Elephants and leopards are fairly common yet always magical sightings, while chance encounters with wild dogs and black rhinoceros sit among the most coveted experiences. The region is experienced through your choice of game drives, boat safaris and walking safaris, giving you the opportunity for incredible intimacy with these sensational surroundings. Couple that with a sundowner and a spectacular lodge, and this is sure to be a mini-vacation you won’t soon forget!
Given the short duration of this tour, it is especially well-suited to individuals or groups that are already in Tanzania. If however you are interested in this package and you are not residing in Tanzania, it is also possible to add this trip to Selous onto the end of one of our other packages, creating a bespoke tour that perfectly suits your needs and desires.
What to Expect
Safaris in the southern circuit are among the most remote and wild in Tanzania. Guests are drawn to the attraction of a raw wilderness experience, where humans are few and wildlife, plentiful. Sightings of major species are less predictable than they are in the north – but what visitors get in exchange is a taste of the African bush as it perhaps once was. While no wildlife can be guaranteed, many of our guests see some, or even all, of the following:
• Buffalo, lion, elephant, leopard
• Zebra, wildebeest, giraffe, sable, impala
• Hippo, crocodile
• Wild dogs
This package also travels through a variety of landscapes, including:
• Savannah and rolling plains
• Lakes, rivers and ravines
